Did he have a son named Kelvin who later became a bus driver, I think they lived at Smethurst Road, Pem.
His son was Stuart who became a driver. I think Stuart also had a nbrother. I don't know if he went on to work on the buses? Stuart was in the same class as me at Highfield Junior School. His cousin Marlene is a regular poster on the site. Yes they lived in Smethurst lane in a council house next to what was the police houses. Opposite Bennet's Farm.

I am Bert's eldest grandson - he was married to Amy and had 3 children: Stuart (Eldest), Kelvin and my dad Kenneth (Youngest). All 3 following in Bert's footsteps and being bus drivers themselves, which continued on into the next generation with myself being a former First bus driver and my brother Wesley being a First vehicle cleaner. Bert did live on Smethurst Lane in Pemberton and Number 77 next to the chicken pen. My dad still lives on Smethurst Lane just a few doors away from his childhood home. It is so good to see my grandad online - something that has only become a part of our way of life since he passed away.
good to hear from Berts Grandson I was his conductor for some time happy days, the photo was taken at Castle Hill terminus when extended to this point there is another photo I took of him when we were parked at Hawkley Hall on this site
I will try find the photo - as my dad would be interested to see it. My dad was also Bert's conductor before he went on to become a driver, definitely a family thing as myself and my brother both work at Stagecoach now (myself driving and my brother in the garage) haha.
