I believe this was the away match against Wigan Highfield on September 2nd 1922, Wigan won 25 points to 10, with Sullivan kicking 8 goals.
The team was :-
Back, left to right :- Percy Coldrick, Fred Roffey, Wilf Hodder, Harry Banks, Tom Woods, Bert Webster.
Front, left to right :- George Hesketh, Syd Jerram, Johnny Ring, Jerry Shea, Jim Sullivan, Sid Boyd, Danny Hurcombe.
Percy Coldrick was one of the few survivors from the pre-war side having joined Wigan in 1912.
Harry Banks 1913-1924. I did think the team was a bit odd for George Banks. A very good call. I couldn't put a date to it and was getting really desperate trying to name the players in the back row and the front for that matter
My Great Uncle Jim Sullivan. What a legend.
Percy Coldrick Wigan Captain and a hero of Rorke's Drift 1914
