Water colour done by Colin Pearce 25/11/1953 All of us as kids fished at this pond just off harts lane. Sadly filled in for a road that was never completed...!
Upholland Anglers in the early 1970's moved the fish to the Blue lagoon up near Billinge. Sadly that has gone also for no good reason.If any one has any photos of Harry Glovers pond please post them or the Blue lagoon.

hello martin. just wonderin weather you remember she park. opposite beacon car park n that was back filled too. Shame that it was full of fish

Yes I do remember she park.....again could never understand why they filled it in. The habitat for the newts etc was also destroyed. I have four ponds in my garden and one is dedicated only for the newts, although I do find the newts are in all of them. They generally only breed were there are no fish to eat the young.
