The St John Ambulance Brigade band, 1955.
They were very popular for walking days etc. I was a member and I still have several friends who were members..

In 1955 they went to a contest in Blackpool and came away with the title of North of England Champions. To celebrate, they organised a march around Wigan followed by this photo session on Wigan Market Square.

Many good memories brought back thanks Gordon. I am first on the left 3rd row ,the person opposite same row Billy Burgoyne is still involved with a band.

Yes i do remember the camp in Crieff also the one in Crail.I remember Jim very well ,did you know that Bert Jones who played tenor drum with me now lives in Australia.

Hi John, Yes, I did know about Bert Jones. I went to see him two years ago. Lives near Perth. He's well and happy enough there.
