Was this the interchange point for the coal sent from Parsonage Colliery, before it was all taken from Bickershaw?

Yes SJB, it was used for coal from Parsonage till Bickershaw brought up Parsonage's coal. The line was then closed from Bickershaw junction.

Am i right in saying that the houses to the left of the photo are on Lovers Lane and the mill in the background is Howe Bridge mill on Gloucester Street

Tom, did that go via the line through Penketh, along the Mersey and the Sankey Canal between Warrington and Widnes? If so, have you any pics in which the canal appears?
