What went wrong with our beautiful railways...this photo along with many, is evidence of a great railway system. Warrington Road to the left, the same place today is just a dirty filthy mess. Nice photo Tom.

This photo is unique!!! Reason being, the signals! If you notice, to the right, there is a home signal. It was placed on the opposite side of the track. Raasons to this day, rail fans do not know!!! I don't know!! Said it was unique to the railway system! All I can think of, was a sharp embankment. Any ideas?
Nothing special about the signals Tony, the signal on the extreme right is Platt Bridge junction's home signal for trains coming from Ince Moss direction.See Assorted/Railways/page 9
