It's certainly changed a lot. I went back to have a look a couple of months ago. I grew up in Garswood and used the railway as my normal mode of transport until I moved out in 1970 but I've many happy memories of the station and Bill Smith, the porter. Great photo, charnock and thanks for putting it on.

used to go down the goods yard at garswood station for rail sleepers and pit props for lavin bros arch lane colliery garswood early sixtys happy days

Used to come here with my dad and mum. We lived in the reservoir house just up the lane, 'til around 1956.

If my memory is correct they provided steps here because the platforms were quite low.
