To : GARY HOPWOOD.

Dear Gary,
Are you the Gary Hopwood who lived in the old cottage, next to King Georges Gates, that had a big conker tree at the side of it, where Bugsy Brogan built the bungalow and Robert Stephenson (Stephensons Rocket) once lived ?

Fantastic Site.
My Grandma (Jessie Windiate) was born in Ince in 1920. She now lives in a home as she has Dementia. However she loves to talk about her days living in Ince and is very proud that she got into Grammar School. Her father had a Shop John Windiates, newsagents 163 Manchester Road in the 1920s. I would love to make her a scrapbook of memories, so very pleased to find this site.

My paternal grandfather lived at 51 Bridgewater Street, Hindley but the name is misspelt. My maternal grandmother lived at 75 Liverpool Road, Hindley grandfather predeseased her.Mrs Case, Mrs France and Elenor Brookfield's shop bring back many childhood memories of the 1940s. Any one else out there from those areas?
