greyhound to your list of no longer with us add the name of don langford i think it must be about 3yrs since don passed away

really enjoyed looking at this site brings back a lot of memories from my childhood keep up the good work

the team named front row doran grimshaw johnson langford brown,back row fearnly jones austin prescott cunliffe lowe ,teachers pennington,latham,sadly fearnly cunliffe johnson lowe,are no longer with us,[i believe]

Trollyman, The 47-48 football team i know most of them but cant put a name to them all, i reconise Roy Pennington (teacher) & Jimmy Johnson holding the ball, Regarding the grasmere photo the teachers are , T Arnold , F Hartley, Anderton, & Latham, i know a few of the lads but they were juniors, i was on the same camp but alas not on the photo, H ope this helps,

bentlsgs,re trollyman who was in the year BELOW jack rigby but was in the same year as the STAR (ME). Trollyman i do have photo's of the school trip to Grassmere with old beaky in prime spot but at the moment i do not have access to them sorry

Trollyman, Did you find the photos? You would have been in Jack Rigby's year, Albert Rimmer was a belting pianist,

Bent Legs.Memory fading a bit..Left in 1948.Can't remember what class number it was.Was at Grasmere Camp.Mr Milner (Beaky) took us fishing in the rain,and ???? Rimmer woke us all up at 2am playing the piano.Slept on palliasses filled with straw from the cellar.

Does any ex pupils of Ashton-in-Makerfied Secondary Modern School in the late 1940s have any school photos of the school trips to Grasmere,where we were billeted in the Village Hall.Any assistance appreciated.This is a great site for getting info of the Wigan District.
