I am trying to contact Ron Briody from Perth in Western Australia (he has contributed to debates on this site). I met Ron and his wife at Standish before they emigrated and we exchanged data we had in relation to the Parkey family tree. My paternal grandfather, William Barlow, was born in Wigan on June 25th, 1905. To my delight, I come from a long line of Barlows that were born in & lived in your lovely Town (City?) This website has been very helpful in tracing my lineage as well as providing additional information such as pictures of the streets that my ancestors lived on. One day I hope to visit Wigan in order to identify with my ancestors of the past. Thank you for providing this wonderful website to enjoy while I search back through the years of my heritage!!!

My family and I used to live on Rose Bridge Terrace,which I don't think even exists anymore,I'd love to find out if anyone has any pictures from around the late 60's-early 70's of the canal and the terrace houses...I remember opening the lock's for the barges to go through,with my brother's and so much more...

My husband and his family are Greenoughs who appear to have resided in Pemberton, Parr West leigh in the 1800s.

Can somebody tell me if they have heard of Laffack Colliery Farm, Parr? We seem to have had relatives there from the 1861 Census
