A great site to visit and the photographs truly describe Wigan as I knew it in my earlier days. Its also very interesting to see how Wigan has developed over the years and the many changes that have taken place in the shopping areas.
Thankfully, Being a Radio Amateur keeps me in touch with many in the Wigan are. A fantastic site and my thanks to all concerned for its production not forgetting the photographers !

Born in Billinge, lived in Orrell. Look/use the site to see changes to the town and where i grew up. Usually have a 400 mile round trip on occassions to see Wigan Athletic play during the season

I used to live in Hindley, Park R.D. I went to All Saints school and moved in '79. My gt grandfather Joseph Wood was a miner from Hindley. Congratulations on a wonderful site. So easy to nvavigate round - unlike many.

HI Does anyone know if their used to be a colliery in Bryn st ince ,or Bryn st Bamforlong, also are there any old photoes of (Bullhey field cottages) situated nr, or in Frog lane. Thanks John.
