Mesnes Car Park
Mesnes Car Park   by Mick Byrne  (Panasonic TZ100)
Cars parked in Mesnes Park, Wigan.

Comment by Syntacticmon on 8th March 2018 at 03:30
This is the first time ever I have seen cars parked outside of the Park Pavilion. What is going on?

Comment by Helen of Troy on 8th March 2018 at 07:44
They spoil the scene completely.

Comment by irene roberts on 8th March 2018 at 08:27
I believe the car-park is for staff. There was an article in The Observer last week about a lady and her disabled husband not being allowed to park there as the spaces were for staff only.

Comment by jack on 8th March 2018 at 08:32
If the council see this picture, they will make it pay and display.

Comment by Veronica on 8th March 2018 at 08:49
Never thought I would see the day when cars would be 'parked' in the park. It doesn't seem right !

Comment by Poet on 8th March 2018 at 09:36
Staff? Where is this ! Heinz factory?

Comment by DTease on 8th March 2018 at 09:50
Surely the idea of having a Park is to have a place where children can play and people can walk without having to worry about being run over with cars. Are these people so bone idle that they can't walk through the Park like everyone else?

Comment by irene roberts on 8th March 2018 at 10:14
Can only tell you what it said in last week's Observer, Poet. Café staff, it said.

Comment by Poet on 8th March 2018 at 10:52
Shouldn't be too difficult to get served an ice cream Irene.

Comment by irene roberts on 8th March 2018 at 11:14
I agree with you, Poet. And I also agree with Helen and Veronica....the cars spoil the scene we have all been familiar with all our lives.

Comment by Veronica on 8th March 2018 at 12:54
It only takes one child to come running out of the cafe with an ice cream and not looking...
It shouldn't be allowed in my opinion.

Comment by Pauline on 8th March 2018 at 13:59
How many staff have they got? If the parking is for the disabled then the disabled ought to think about the abled. Especially the young! Absolutely ridiculous.

Comment by PeterP on 8th March 2018 at 14:52
Pauline the parking is for staff not the DISABLED.We can park around the outside of the park by using our Blue Badge. if you think it is wrong for staff to park around the cafe get onto the council to try to put a stop to it, done blame the DISABLED

Minimum wages but free parking and tea and crumpets or scones for the lucky candidate!

Comment by Pat McC on 8th March 2018 at 18:08
Do they serve Parkin with the tea?

Comment by britboy on 8th March 2018 at 18:19

Comment by . Ozymandias . on 8th March 2018 at 18:51
Not overly partial to tea if I'm being honest, but a nice bit of crumpet never goes amiss.....Am I right DTease?...fnarr!, fnarr!.
