how daft can the police get.
we really should have a competition for the daftest police force in the country.
Manchester police- A jeweller who has been the victim of thefts by Romanian travellers has posted a notice that they are now banned from his shop-he is accused of racism but none of the stolen items have been recovered
Humberside police.-arrested a couple for theft ,they were removing rubbish from an empty council house.
They were hand cuffed and took to the station in a riot vehicle.
Police rquested a drugs test which they refused-conditional discharge for the refusal.
Devon & Cornwall police sent in a helicopter to break up a birthday party which had been advertisd on facebook ,they suspected a rave.It was in a back garden-17 guests.
Norfolk police -will supply compsses to muslim prisoners to allow them to know which way is east whilst in the cells.
Can it be possible that they can think of nything else to waste taxpayers money.

I read somewhere that for those Police that are Pagans there is now a Pagan Police association. I think they are entiltled to Pagan holidays such as the Summer Solstice.

It amazes me
people are quick to jump on the band wagon and call our men and women serving police officers, BUT who do they call IMMEDIATELY as soon as something happens in their tin pot lives guess what the police
instead of trying to put police down try and support them and post threads which show the millions of good things they do
just think what would happen if we didnt have them
Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 12:05
It's Mecca!
You only face East if Mecca is to your East. Otherwise you face the direction that Mecca is in from your vantage point.
Salaam Alaykum, brothers.

We are talking about the bingo hall Mecca?
Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 12:24
yes Jerry I did know that re Mecca, but in this country you have to face east to face the place, and that's why Norfolk police feel it necessary to provide compasses so that the prisoners know which way to face, presumaing that they consider themselves religious .Which is arguable in most cases if they're in the cells.
Presumably they can't work directions out without compsses.

I agree with you fatlad, the law might be an ass and the police might make mistakes, but we would be in a right pickle without them both

It amazes me that there is no one available when you need the police and that I have to phone Manchester and not Wigan.

What we do now, sort it ourselves.

APLS &Fatlad,
We on this site would all consider ourselves to be law abiding citizens and supporters of the agents of law and order.
However we are entitled to cririse what appears not only stupid but an obscene waste of tax-payers money.
And if we are the victims of crime it is our right to call the police not a priveledge and in many cases calling them appears to be a futile act.
I will praise the police as and when I see that their actions deserve praise but will not go along with supporting them in stupidity and PC policies.
It seems more and more that we are called on to accept innocent people being neglected by the police in this country.
The poor jeweller in Altrincham, who has systematically been robbed by a partcular group of people, excercises his right to notify this group that they are no longer allowed in his shop ,is accused of racism, whilst the thefts have not been dealt with. Now I call that stupid and how can anyone support the police in this instance.
Also haow can we suport them when we see muslims bad-mouthing OUR troops ,on OUR streets and the police stand by without any disorder arrests.
If you feel you can support this kind of policy then go ahead but don't have a go at those of us who ,quite rightly ,cannot.

A few years ago, neighbours of mine had been quarelling and one of them picked up an empty milk bottle on his doorstep to hit the woman neighbour with. I rang the police (a Manchester no) and they put it through to Wigan. They informed me that it had already been reported and someone was on their way. They arrived forty minutes later, if the bottle had hit the woman, the other neighbour could have been facing at least manslaughter charges. The van that arrived, left without the threatening neighbour, but had to be recalled ten minutes later when he started off again. Why didn't they take him in the first place, he was drunk and disorderly anyway, apart from the threatening behaviour. I can't understand why we have to ring Manchester so that it can be put through to Wigan.

Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 14:16

have you ever thought that all romanians are not robbers and theives
and that by banning all romanians from the shop could be percieved by any reasonable person to be racist
what if he barred all wiganers would your opinion change
as your a law abiding person being barred merely because of your birthplace that would be right would it
erm no i thought so
Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 17:25
as for ringing manchester
they use a centralised call taking system which is answered x communication staff in one of 4 control rooms throughout the police force i dont see the problem in that
whats the answer i know put up everyones rates and give them the tools to play on a level surface
again erm i think that will not be met with your approval

I cannot get me head around how youths have the mentality to set something on fire, then call the fire brigade and when they arrive to put out the fire, they then attack the fire fighters

Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 18:52

not at all your entitled to your opinion
small minded as not taking into account the bigger picture
ie; staffing levels , volume of incidents , logistics, communications , graded response policies etc
they are also set budgets by the local authorities and have to work within that budget which is set far below what is needed (my opinion)
to call them a waste of space in my opinion is small minded
but hey they are a easy target arnt they
Replied: 18th Jul 2009 at 18:59
Fatlad, I thought I'd already explained that in principle I am a supporter of law and order and it's agents .However that suport cannot stretch to incidences of stupidity and obscene wastes of resources in the pursuit of idiocy.
Surely even you cannot disagree with that.
Where there are events which call for condemnation of the perpetrators then surely we have a right to voice discontent and push for the cessation of such-we are the paymasters and we deserve a service .
As for all Romanians not being thieves I am sure that is the case ,but in the gentlemans case he has found that those who hve stolen from him have been Romanians -they are the guilty party and the onus is on them tosto showing up their compatriots. In this case it is encumbent on the police to investigate the thefts and not the victim.
Shopkeepers are allowed to keep school kids to 2 at a time in the shop ,which is a cceptable, but they are far from saying all school kids are thieves.
It's all just common sense really.
I remember going to Malta during the foot and mouth crisis and all British people were made to wlk through disinfectant-was this racist as most of them had not been near an infected area, but we saw it as a safeguard and complied. The jeweller is using a safeguard.
I don't know why you resort to calling people small minded as that clearly is not the case,or is it your way of not being able to maitain a meaningful argument so take the easy option of condeming those who don;t agree with your opinion.
Replied: 19th Jul 2009 at 11:11
ya have to remember, these people dont come into the shop single handed...they mob the shop, and guess what, the shop owner will find some of his goods have gone walkabout without saying ta-ra.
am i racist?naah, just saying it as it is.i am not an untouchable, so why should johny foreigner be untouchable.
Replied: 19th Jul 2009 at 12:38
vera
first of all i dont argue!!! i endeavour to communicate
obviously along this thread it is futile
get a grip and see the bigger picture
and yes people including you are small minded
how can you compare racism to foot and mouth and washing feet in disinfectant
what you on about
whats your point really you seeem to agree with me then disagree
Replied: 20th Jul 2009 at 00:16
Fat lad,
Ihave nothing else to add to my case, you obviuosly do not agree, and that's fine.I have always accepted that other peoples opinions are just as valid as mine but I won't always agree with them, and this is the case now.
However I do object to you labeelling me assmallminded as I am not and have never been so..I would not call you as such just because I don't agree with your views.
I am well able to see the biger picture ,as you put it, and it is because the police may be understaffed and/or underfunded that it is a mystery to me why they choose to use those precious resources on such silliness.
Re the foot and mouth it was an attemptto illustrate one issue that was directed at just British people ,regardless of the fact that the majority would never have been to an infected area, but I could go along with this as I felt it was a safeguard for that country.
Replied: 20th Jul 2009 at 08:54
the english shop owner, is closing down??he cant understand his democratic right to bar whoever he chooses from his shop(nor can i)they are his goods that are being stolen arent they?so instead of the plod jumping on his back, why dont they do what the taxpayers are paying them handsomely to do..CATCH F****** CRIMINALS???and give old age pensioners more respect, they are another soft touch for em.
Replied: 20th Jul 2009 at 10:16
Well said fatlad!!! not the small minded bit but the explanation of the bigger picture. If anyone is to blame for staff shortages, low level crime targets, ridiculous laws and policies it is the government who have brought all these into place. The police do what their masters decree and dont forget, the Police Authority is made up of members of the public so who is deciding what they target?
