Good one, Andrew. Would be lovely if we had "before-and- after" images of this same area. I wonder what people who lived there 100 years ago in the 1920s would make of this view of "Up Scows"?

I remember those houses, bottom left, being built on Caunce Road - still known as 'Bobbys Houses' as they were used to house the local constabulary

I remember the ‘Police Houses’ they stood out
amongst the old Scholes. It’s hard to get my bearings nowadays on the photo. Apart from the red bricked flats at the top of Greenough St. and the others further down.

Was that taken from the Parish Church tower too Andrew ?
I wonder if people like living in tower blocks rather than a house on terra firma ?

It looks like. The Parish Church tower on the right in the distance to me. This looks as if it’s been taken from Whelley unless my eyes are deceiving me.

Veronica…. I think what you are looking at is a blue structure on top of Coops building. It appears to be some sort of not very tall tower.
