I see it's had a visit from the vandals ripping off tiles or maybe thieves looking for something to steal. Sad to see once busy and thriving pubs now standing derelict.

Surprised its still standing or not full of rough sleepers. Also all of the windows look intact . Had a few meals in this pub over the years when it was the Navigation after a stroll along the canal towpath. Yet another sign of the times with more to follow.

I read in paper that they have pinch all the lead

So they're back to lead, a few years ago it was copper piping they were ripping out.

Never had any meals there PeterP, but had quite a few pints over the years, it was a good pub to call in when having a summer evenings stroll.

If rough sleepers happened to get in you couldn't blame them, it'd be somewhere dry to stay over winter as long as they didn't trash it.

Dereliction in Shangri-La Shevvy? Who would ever have thunk it Mick? And vandals pinching lead off the roof? The home of Bankers and Managers seems to be going downhill these days.
Looks like the Parish Council are going to have to pull their socks up!

DTease - he will class it as Gathurst because it's something negative. It'll be like his previous comments over the years about the BP petrol station, if it's anything positive about it's innovative charging points it's Shevington. If it's anything negative about pollution it's Standish

The Shevington border is the river Douglas so the Navvy is in Shevington.
But just because something is vandalized it necessarily mean its done by the local residents.

Whoever’s vandalised the building it’s a blot on the landscape. Standards are slipping on the borders of Shangri La what are the parish council doing. .?. Organising Christmas do’s in the parish hall no doubt…tickets only - no riff raff allowed…black tie and tails or at a pinch lounge suits, but no lounge lizards stalking the premises..

It will be the Beech hill or Higher Ince scrap metal men or the Little lane or Bickershaw gypsies who are responsible.

Rode past that many times heading for Parbold along the canal always thought that’s a strange name for a pup come restaurant,it’ll end up looking like Dover lock as they will do anything bar work these vandals
