Lovely, powerful, whispering giants. They do whisper when they are operating. The quiet hiss and swish as the crosshead slides passed you. They are truly beautiful and powerful. The smell of the engine house is something else to be aware of, delicious.

OMG my paternal grandfather was foreman there and I remember being shown around the factory when I was a youngster. I am now 80, so you can guess when that was !
