Now that is what I call special!!
One of the best on P.A.D. Thanks Dave (Oy) PS. Look at the tiny hairs on the stems...

Comment by Mick on 20th August 2014 at 07:22
Its just a close up of a insect, nothing Wiganish about it.

And if I wanted to be critical about it I would say its actually a poor photo because what spoils it for me is the dead brown leaves that the insect is sat on.

Better than the eye can see.

Brilliant shot.

Comment by Alan on 20th August 2014 at 19:40
It looks too colourful, has it been retouched. In might not be a living insect. Yet another camera trick.
But the picys good which ever way.

Comment by Lizziedownunder on 20th August 2014 at 20:30

Dave, beautiful photo.

Comment by Dave (Oy) on 20th August 2014 at 21:42
Yeah Alan it's a plastic one I bought at IKEA hahahaha!

This is a real live dragonfly that looks exactly as it did to the naked eye from about 1m away.

Dave, may I copy your excelent photo of my favorite insect? I want to show it to my friends in the USA.
I'm very wary of copyright and would not want to step on toes.

A fine male specimen well photographed.
