nice shot dan
good use of the hdr
it really brings the clouds up well

Comment by: Helen on 4th November 2010 at 09:24

The sky & clouds look surreal.

I have Lightroom 3 installed on my computer. If I use the luminance channel slider I thing I could achieve this HDR effect.

I just love that sky.

Great shot with a moody sky.

Amazing sky! like a scene from a sci-fi film.

nice take on a photo ,just hope its not a competition who can take the best photo with the fancy camera?

Comment by: Dan on 4th November 2010 at 17:40

No, its nothing to do with who can take a photo with a fancy camera, its just a shot taken on a recent walk which I have edited

Love the sky effect in HDR. Maybe not as picturesque but makes a change from Haigh Hall! Good to see other parts of the borough.

Heinz just a blot on the landscape spewing out pollution with its ugly chimney, who wants this in their backyard,

Comment by: Les Bagg on 5th November 2010 at 21:57

If it wasn't for "blots on the landscape" everyone would still be living in mudhuts.
The "pollution" that comes from the chimney is steam from the boiler plant.

It's been in the backyard since 1959 and people are still buying houses around it.

Comment by: Alan B on 6th November 2010 at 16:04

Hi, Les Bagg, I would not live near that place if the houses where free, As for the chimney i do believe this blot on the landscape as only been there for a few years, Alan.

Fantastic shot Dan - looks almost surreal!

Comment by: Bob (Aus) on 12th November 2010 at 01:47

@ AlanB, mate that blot on the landscape has been a saviour for the Wigan District, how many people do you know who work or have worked in a job at "the blot" if it wern't there - where would they work?
