Photo taken in the 1960's of a man who was once the skipper of the L&L short boat Mary Jane.
At the top lock he joined us with a good model of his boat which he had made.
Does anyone know his name or other info?

This is old Pee Hoad lived in stone house facing lock is son David lives up Aspull.

the picture is of Peter Ode lockkeeper at top lock. the model boat was a wedding present to his mother and father from a wigan boatyard. he died in 1976

This is a photo of my great uncle Peter. The boat was indeed a wedding present for his mother and father.His mothers name was also Mary Jane as was mine named after her Grandmother.He left a great legacy in that all the Odes left in Wigan are related to him!
