this old farmhouse as now been demolished it was built in the sixteen hundreds ,their were seven children in the family ,my dad worked in the mines , we had no running water or electricity ,we only had a tilly lamp and candles , we got our drinking water from the well in the farm yard by means of a bucket and a length of rope ,my dad used to go on the railway lines and pick coal up what the fireman had thrown off for us ,their was no nails in the beams they were all pegged , it was taken down in stages about 15 years ago , and was to be rebuilt at haigh hall , nobody seems to no more about blacklawyers farm let me know if you know anything, i could write a book about my upbringing , my e mail address is , alan banks rivington_view@hotmail.com
