I was in the Sea Cadets at that time. Vinnie Waters was keen on Joy Williams, incidently her sister married Ken Roocroft.Remember C.P.O. Melling, I was in his guard of honour

Top photo I'm pretty sure left hand side is Kevin Campbell.can't remember the other two lads names.
Bottom photo, back row I think left hand side could be Frank Foster, next one is definately one of the Daly's, not Mike but his brother, and again right hand side I think is Kevin Campbell.

I was part of the Bretherton Row mob, after that, the Limbless Ex-Servicemens club, (anyone remember that?). Ending up at Christchurch Hall in Stairgate...All "TS Lady Crawford SCC"..From '49 to '53.

Front row left hand side is Vinnie Waters. He is still a creaking gate living in Hindley Green. He has been married, widowed, has two sons and five great grandchildren. He loved his days at the Wigan sea cadets and still reminises fondly.... most days....

Comment by: Andy waters on 9th September 2022 at 19:55

Vincent waters is still around. Still doing well and still reminiscing about his sea cadet days.

Comment by: Janet on 13th April 2024 at 03:56

I remember once being told, by
my Mother, that Vincent Waters was a Cousin when he once called at our house in Park Road, Wigan; this was was eons ago!
Have been trying to find out the family connection for ages, but still haven't.
Walsh was one of our family Surnames.
If anyone could ask Vincent, I'd be grateful.
