Can anyone identify the group?
What I can tell you for certain is that the seated gentleman on the front row in a lighter coloured suit, third in from the right is my grandfather, Stephen Gladstone Watson, the father of the young girl (my aunt) in the first picture. If you refer to Keith Guest's Hindley Directory, Section 4 you will see that the family lived at 45 Liverpool Road at one time. They did I believe live at several addresses in Hindley over the years - Mackinson Avenue and Howarth Street being two of them. I don't know when the picture was taken exactly or, more interestingly, what group this was and I'm hoping someone might be able to help. My guess would be that it was a St Paul's Church group but I might be wrong.

i think this may be a bowling team as the 4th from the left on the middle row is bill lacy a well known bowler

surely the ist Gentleman on the left front row cannot be The leader of the Labour Party after the 2nd W W Clemnt Atlee ???? if not it is his double
