In 1897, William Wilson opens a new purpose-built factory in Leeds on Silver Cross street, calling it The Silver Cross Works. In 1977 Silver Cross pram was presented to Princess Anne for her first child, Peter Philips. They were indeed hand-crafted coach built products and British. I think we should check our mothers and grandmothers lofts and attics don't you!
Another beauty. I know people will think I like to live in the dark ages....when babies were babies & travelled in these lovely things. Thanks for the nostalgia Orrellite.
Helen, there's nothing wrong with nostalgia..it's mainly what these photos are all about..nostalgia away.lol
Your right Helen. If it weren't for the past there would be no tomorrow.
One thing the babies had plenty room to grow in these prams! These days they seem squashed up in the car-seat/cum pram they are put in nowadays!
I remember pushing my baby brother in a silver cross pram ,I was 9 yrs old
Such a beautiful elegant pram, a distinguished classic.
Thankyou Orrellite.
