Great to see this old omnibus in the towns livery colours!
I recall the Beech Hill bus-stop was outside Lowes shop!
And the registration letters JP (my initials) & EK are Wigan!

I never ever caught a bus to Beech Hill. In fact, I had no business to go there. However, I did venture on the Standish bus (Abbey Lakes-Standish) to Gidlow cemetery on the Wigan Lane side. I once caught a single decker to Shevington watching my elder brother represent Wigan Schoolboys at football. Was there a Shevington service? Obviously so - but I cannot remember the route and number. Other outings included the bus to Springs Branch on Sunday mornings. Any numbers, please?

Jarvo, I can remember getting a Wigan Corporation bus from Orrell Post to Shevington, always a single decker to get under Gathurst Bridge, that was in the mid 60's, I think it may have been a circular bus route, Wigan - Orrell Post - Shevington - Wigan. Also have fond memories or the Abbey Lakes - Wigan - Infirmary - Standish Route.

Wasn't there three buses that you could travel on to Shevington at one time, Randall's Corner, Dangerous Corner and Wrightington Hospital, Ernest will thankfully correct me if I'm wrong.

Jarvo, the only ones I remember were Abbey Lakes to Standish Pepper Lane number 5, and the reverse journey was 7

I`ve had a free ride on this bus from Manchester Transport Museum to Heaton Park and back.
Cyril; can`t confirm the three buses. I took my Uncle Joe, who lived in Detroit, on top of a Wigan Corporation double decker from Old Lane, Shevington into Wigan in May 1964. He enjoyed the ride very much. Fare in 1958 was 4d, it`s now £2.70. The present 635 Wrightington bus, which is hourly, is to be taken off shortly.

The only ones I remember are, 12 Abram. 13 Bickershaw. 23 Worsley Hall. 22 Marsh Green. 21 Kitt Green. Often went to Horwich by Wigan Corporation bus when going to Rivington Pike though I can't remember the number.

Jarvo your mate builderboy did a thread about bus numbers:

At one time there was a single decker bus that you could get on, on the Market Square, but it may have been a Ribble,or a L.U.T. Must be over sixty years since I last went on it.

Used to travel to John Fisher from park gates. Fare was 3halfpence or a penny from Swinley Rd. to Beech Hill terminus. There was also a number 1B which terminated at Barnsley St.

In my previous comment I should have stated, "That took you to Shevington." Apologies.
