Item #: 27585
Retrieved from the pile of rubble at the rear of the former Crawford Arms, ( bridge 63 ). The ' regular ' brick was manufactured locally whereas, the ' special ' came from Ruabon. Ruabon being referred to at the time as Terracottapolis, due to the abundance of brickworks in the locality.

There's a mountain of stuff Steve, but you'll have to root through it. I tried to find a complete ARLEY brick but was unsuccessful. That's not to say there isn't one in there. The old stuff is mixed in with more modern material. I was just after hardcore really.

I found an ARLEY brick in the Douglas near Arley bridge. Beware of the midges... Never got bitten as much in all my life, had the marks all over my arms and legs for weeks. and boy did they itch...

You need to be careful when there's midges around Ron, especially now, with this new Zika disease that they've just invented.

I wonder if this brick is anything to do with Arthur Monk & Sons. the builders, from Warrington?
