It can't be 1968 Brian. I'll tell you for why. The West Coast Main line is electrified this was complete around 1974. The steam train is a Special as you say.

Sorry you are correct it is 1986 got numbers wrong way this loco in 67 was the one I travelled behind as the last loco of that class oct 67
