Very smart, and a perfect image of the fashions of the time. And I can add that the lovely Nancy and the handsome young Brian are as lovely and handsome as they were on that day, (lend us a tenner, Brian!)

Hello Brian , hope all is well. What a nice smart group. Don't lend Irene a tenner... she'll only blow it on pies!

I think I can remember the couple, Alan and Nelly.Did they have a shop on Ince Bar?

You little tinker, Neil Cain! What was the shop Alan and Nelly had, please, A.Bolton?

Comment by: Brian Bradshaw on 16th March 2013 at 20:05

Yes I am Martins dad and we are going to Cornwall at Easter to see him and the two Grandsons. Alan and Nelly Gostelow did keep a newsagents on Ince Bar. Neil, if Irene spends the tenner wisely, she can get TWENTY pies from the town centre.

I know the very shop, Brian! Have a lovely time with your son in Cornwall; we are going to see our daughter on Lewis in May.

Irene, you may know Nellie Gostellos family, they lived in Ince Green Lane in the bay windowed house at the end of the row from Mr Rawsons shop.Nellie and Dorothy Britton were twins and their younger sister was Marlene. There were brothers as well but I don't remember their names. After marriage Dorothy and Marlene lived in the row of houses next to St Williams Church.
I think Gostellos shop was a newsagents

I remember Rawson's shop, Evelyn, although I remember it more clearly as Eccleston's, but I don't recall the Gostellos. However, I remember my Mam talking about the Gostellos so she would have known them. Thanks Evelyn.
