1963: Garaged at the rear of (at the time) the butcher's shop on Market St. opposite St. Wilfrid's Church, Standish. Buick Super 8, engine, straight eight overhead valve, 4065cc, Length 18'2'', Width 6'6½'', Wheel Base 10'9''.
Top speed approx. 85mph. 17mpg. price of petrol 3s.9½d.per gall. Sold for £15, replacement in average condition now is £9,000.

Beats my old 1947 Fordson van into a cocked hat - except I had the registration OKC 5.

It was Nev, it was my third American car, paid £45 for it, 2½ weeks wages. If you look through the o/s front widscreen you can see the roof of the pontiac I also had, but I sold it shortly after I took this pic.,couldn't pay to run two, even in those days.
