Susan, Brooks Brothers was in the Market Place on the site of what was previously Alexandre mens tailors and next to the Wigan Corporation transport offices. Today it would have been next to Thomas Cook travel agents and a bakers/confectioners is now on the site.

I worked at brooks for my first job. Along with Peter wright from Orrell Betty fun life from schoolers and Mr Cockbain from Euxton. Never knew his first name he was always referred too as mister....that's when you you had to write out receipts with a pen.. It took longer than the actual sale it was probably mr Cockbain (pronounced Coburn) that wrote this out
