Top left??? Top right: Outside the booking office on Manchester rd, you can just see the old shell filling station sign between the Fox pub and Walls offices. Bottom left: taken at Platt-Bridge, the building was Kwiksave, now Iceland. Bottom right: parked outside Vartys and Ince legion is seen in the background. Great set of pics Tom, thanks for sharing...not too sure of the top left though.

Yes Les I were on that one that broke down on Motorway in 1970

We never got there but watched part of the match in a television shop just around the corner from wembley on the replacement coach that arrived far too late to get us to the match the Gear box on Walls coach had given up the ghost. a funny thing happened on this trip too we arrived at a services a little lad from our coach went to a cash operated machine he put a shilling in and discovered that when he pulled the handle it gave him a bar of chocolate each time he pulled it.. it worked on every handle so very soon all the kids on our coach went and emptied the machine... when an officious looking woman arrived to reclaim the goods a quick witted wigginer pointed at another coach (which was just leaving) and said I seen um love the robbing buggers are on THAT coach... she hot footed across the car park to catch it but she never did...........as we drove away all the kids on our coach were showing her the bags of crisp and chocolates through the windows

That's right Joan, he used to live in Grasmere Ave. Wall's coaches were used to take our class to Leigh baths from Belle Green school, mid 60s.

top left, Bedford VAL70 with Duple Viceroy bodywork, bottom right, Bedford VAL70 with Plaxton Panorama Elite bodywork.

Hurst coaches used to have a Bedford Val70 with plaxton bodywork that looked a lot nicer. anyone know what happened to it?
