Lovely photo, I remember my dad talking about Benny Gaskell but I don't remember his wife. I was born at No. 1 Crawford Avenue but our Len and Derek were born down bolton road. We moved to Balcarres road when I was born. Linda were you in the morris dancers? Would like to see the photo you talked about.

I lived on Crawford avenue upto the age of 7.... I remember you and your mum, Elaine, my dad was Thomas rourke and my mum jean,,,, we lived at 37 next door to Nellie,,,

Hi everyone, I was born at No 39 Crawford Avenue March 1947, we moved across the avenue to No 46 - a three bedroom - around 1954. Like Linda, I remember most of the folks who lived on't th'av and I knew Benny and Ethel and family very well, I even remember owd Tum who lived at No 47 before they did, he was the local ' Knocker Up', most of the menfolk on the Avenue were miners back then, early shifts.

I lived at 37 Crawford Avenue, friends with angela Fulton, adele foster,and Michael Southern (who loved in the end house across the road from us) (do they still live there?) at 35 was Nellie, 39 was Christine and Derek, 41 was Mary and Noel,,,Christine and Derek had daughter Jacqueline,,,, would love to hear from anyone who remembers me,,, thank you
