Aspull Labour Club Outing 1970's?.
Thumbs up but where are they going ?. It must be a long trip judging by the number of beer crates they're sitting on!. my dad, Joe, is on the left wearing glasses.

The coach driver looks like Les Kendrick.

Thanks for this photo, my dad Jimmy Roocroft is at the right hand side, standing behind the man sat on the beer crate. My dad was treasurer of the club for many years, is that Jack Ashcroft stood in the coach doorway, he was the secretary.

Mention of Benny Gaskell reminds me of an incident when I was a youngster living on Scot Lane.
The milkman's horse slipped on the cobblestones, broke the shafts on the cart and took off in a panic!. Benny managed to grab the horse and get control before anyone was hurt.
That would be a major incident in 1950's Aspull.
