I want to tell you i have found sum more names on the photo my uncle roy woked a the branch and i found he worked with your dad and he is on the photo ROY LANCASTER BILL FAIRCOUGH.LEN AUSTIN JACK ROBINSON TONY PRICE BILL RALPH ARTHER LEWIS.plus we think a JACK CASEY is on the photo to which is part of my family

This is a long shot, given how common Lewis is... does anyone have any knowledge of who the Arthur Lewis was (his family), and what year is the pic? I thought there was a young Arthur Lewis in my family tree who died early twentieth c. in Wigan. But have no further info on him. I wonder if this is his relation...

Sheryl, The picture was taken in 1948 I believe. Arthur lived in Higher Ince near Rose Bridge. His wifes name was Peggy and they had a son, Michael. Sadly Arthur is no longer with us but I would guess he would be about 85yrs now.

Arthur Lewis was part of the Springs Branch breakdown gang for many years, check out Railways page 25 item# 15581 for a photo.
