I remember watching this from Haigh Hall - the towers were seen to collapse and a few seconds later we got the sound of the explosion. Thanks for the memory.

We watched it from the old railway embankment on Poolstock Lane. It was fabulous to see but I remember thinking that the skyline looked empty afterwards.

I went to photograph the cooling towers go down, January 1989, I watched from the railway embankment at Poolstock too.
