My Dad Jack was a joiner and how lucky I was. Each christmas as a child, he always came up trumps with his skills! I`ve had many hours of pleasure from his masterpieces. This is one of his classic`s, which I and my friends seem to remember the most.

It took a couple of minutes... what you mean is a child's toy shop, not a child's TOY shop! I was looking for the dolls, or Dinkies! Oh, I do feel an April Fool!

This is absolutely wonderful! How lucky you were! I would've given anything for that as a child. Thankyou for showing us.

And for got to mention, it was "recycled" after I had outgrown it. It was converted to a kitchenette for my anut & Uncle!

Kensitas cigarettes for sale in a child's toy shop! What would the politically correct kill joys have to say about that nowadays?

Haven't things got silly? I must have eaten enough sweet cigarettes to sink a battleship in my childhood, and never once had the urge to try the real thing.

Wow! all those packets, advertising signs, etc. would be worth a fortune today

Dead right on that Irene, everybody got spanish pipes as well and a chocolate smoker's set at christmas, didn't do anybody any harm.

I was one who helped out behind that shop counter on many occasions! Jack was a talented craftsman and as my friend Nadine describes above, this was just one of his many masterpieces. He was also a true gent.

More happy memories of many hours spent playing shop! Your Dad was so talented. Nice to see the shop again! Thanks for sharing the pic.
