Our wedding cost £30 in 1965 that was the church fee,flowers and reception.

Re costs. When we bought our wedding ring from the jewellers in the Arcade in 1966, it cost £6 and was in the 1960's broad style. We got 3 solid silver teaspoons as a gift. Later when I developed arthritis and couldn't wear it there was enough gold in the ring to enable it to be cut it in half and give a ring each to my daughter and daughter in law.The one I got for my ruby wedding blessing cost £250. That was after the husband had said with a straight face to the lady in the Manchester jewellers were we now live that as my first ring had cost six pounds allowing for inflation I could go to ten! Her face was a delight!
