I've remembered and its the Market Hotel in the room on the right as you went in. It was about the only time we went in that room as we were waiting for a taxi and could see ouside,I think. We always used the back room normally.

Don't think it's the Market, looks more like a games room. My first thought was Central Labour Club, did you ever go in there?

Yes I did go in the Central, Dave..you could be right. My memory may be confused.

the box on the wall looks like a meter for the snooker table light ,which suggests a games room 8iqho

Thanks Mark I knew Dennis from The Dog & Partridge and The Raven, this photo could have been taken in the vault of The Bricklayers in Hallgate, it definitely isn't The All Saint's Tavern which was further down as the walls aren't splattered with blood.

I don't think its the Bricklayers as I only went in there very rarely Cyril.

Its def not the Bricklayers vault, could it be the Crofters?? im sure the vault in there was shaped the same with windows looking out to the alley at the side.

A month late, I know, but this is Central Labour Club --now Riley's - as Dave Johnson has said. The snooker metre's the give away.
