I can remember dating a lovely young thing from Bolton, I would kiss her soundly on the platform... erm... you get the picture, and then board my late train home... hoping to god it was not delayed because I could just get the last orders at the Edington Arms if I jumped off at Hindley... then I would walk home to Platt Bridge. With beer and love in my belly.

Ahh... those halcyon days, memory sparked by just a photograph.

Lived just over the bridge beyond the houses. The railway line separated Ladies lane and Hall lane. Unfortunately there was tremendous gang rivalry between the kids. Woe betide you if you were on the wrong side of the bridge, and got caught!
