One can only suppose that Whelley Central Elementary School was in the centre of Whelley. Duh!

Thanks for that, I assume that this later became Whelley Secondary Modern or Whelley Secondary Modern was built on this site.

when i went to Whelley school 1950s you could see the out line of the air raid shelters on frosty days
