Was there also a player by the name of Frank Murphy from this time or a little later?

Comment by: alan ladl on 1st June 2013 at 18:51

Could the lad next to Charlie be Jim Cheston? also Frank murf is Jims younger brother and he was awreet at football.

Comment by: Roy on 1st June 2013 at 20:48

The lad next to John Smethurst looks like Jim Tomlinson.

Terry Wignall passed away at the begining of this year.

Joseph, I worked at John England when I left school and there was a Frank Murphy that played for St Wilfs that worked there. That was '70 and '71. Frank was a welder

Comment by: alan lad on 5th June 2013 at 21:29

Last I heard of Frank he lived in ulnes walton way and did gardin stuff.

Spoken to Charlie Smethurst and he confirms my assumption that the missing player is indeed Jim Tomlinson.
