Wigan lads win the Warrington cup

Distric Rovers football team which played in the Warrington Sunday league was made up of players from Highfield and A.P.B.who were great rivals on a Saturday,but were teamates on a Sunday. I came across this old press cutting, please name the other lads not mentioned in the article.

According to the reverse side of the press cutting it was early April 1970.Cheers Dicky

Richard i was captain of A.P.B. that year but only reconise Keith Dootson and Jimmy Ball, Joe Roughley looks to be on the back row but not sure,i remember all the Highfield lads had some great battles with them

I remember you playing Mark and as you said we did have a few battles.With regards to the Sunday team lads use to drift in and out, the team was usually picked on a Saturday night in the Casino, as to who was still fit after the Saturday games.Happy days.....Dick

Joe Roughly lives in your area, (North Wales) we had a reunion in 92 and thats were he travelled from
