Fair dos but all these family photos are now getting ridiculous EVERY one has family photos of which the majority are of no interest to anyone but the family.
Thanks for sharing these photos - I enjoy looking at them.
Cue - wiganer with another negative post, unless it is the person who posts under other user names?
Some people are interested as per the positive posts about the photos.
Remember what it says on the Home page:
Wanted - Your Old Photographs
Old photographs wanted to build up an online collection. Anything to do with Wigan, including walking days, street parties, school class photographs, streets, etc. Please help, everyone has a photo album - it would be good to build up a busy, online archive of old photos.
Wiganer, why so negative. A fantastic picture from of a local man who served his country. Keep them coming I say.
Well said Cyril, lots of people enjoy these old photos, and someone may recognise a family member, or someone they know.
I have a feeling the larger photo is of the Territorials who were based at the Drill Hall in Greenough Street. I recognise a relative.
What relative Ruth?
Wiganer - the whole point of it being called Wigan WORLD is so that the world of Wigan can post pictures of relatives in the past wether it be in the war or something else. Do you think only certain people had relatives in the war? Course they’re going to post pictures and I hope they do because it’s not only fascinating it’s respectful. Keep your comments off my posts.
Hi Jake, front row right-hand side 7th in next to official. Relative is George M Pugh. Although I had said Territorials, George, served abroad too, in the Far East. I can remember Ceylon being mentioned.
Ruth i could take a picture close up for you if you like?
