How wonderful to see a photo of my grandad in his WW1 Cavalry Uniform. I am the second son of Cyril, who was one of my grandad's sons. I am still in the army myself (aged 52), and as my dad, Cyril served in the RN during WW1, there is continuous line of military service in the family. A great picture of my grandad - my brother Kieran resembles him I think.
Anthony,
I have just started to research our family history to formulate a Family Tree.
I remember Auntie Jane who lived at Springfield and her daughter who was married to Albert Rogers, we often visited them in the 1950's and my brother Ernie went there for his lunch when he attended the Thomas Linacre.
My father was Robert Dandy and was a twin to James Dandy and they lived in Shevington until their deaths.
I remember the sister Winnie from Roby Mill.
Like all families you lose touch over the years.
I would like to get in touch if possible to discuss what you know about the Dandy Family.
Thomas dandy had 4 children a son by the name of John Dandy, My dad who also had 4 children John, Carol, steve and Paula
My great grandmother was Selina dandy who married john (jack) Ashley. They lived in beech hill. She sadly died in 2011 aged 97, I don't know much about her family to be honest but would be interested if anyone has any information.
