This portrait of my parents was created at my sister's home in Roby Mill, somewhere around 1981. At that time they were living in Orrellm after a lifetime in the Newtown area.
I created the portrait on Fuji Transparency film so that I could produce one of my permanent Cibachrome Porraits.

This is a lovely photograph of your parents and I am always pleased to see the subject young then later on in life.
Ella is instantly recognizable but Henry has changed significantly, but still a handsome man.

I have recently spent a year with putting 65 years of family photo`s into new albums but am very disappointed to find they have gone very dark. Is there anything I can do about this?
I am concerned they may disappear in the future!

Were you related to Raymond Simm? I think he lived in Newtown or Pemberton.

Although I knew Raymond and his Brother Bill, we were not related. I believe Ray and his parent lived up b St. Cuthberts Church, not far from Half Way House

Christine,

I am sorry to learn that you pictures seem to be darkening, I would suggest that before you attempt to do anything with the images, sou should scan them or have them scanned on a decent quality scanner, not expensive these days. The scanned files can then be adjusted in an image processing software such as PhotoSHop.

Hi David,
Good to see this picture of your mother, and the other younger version. I used to work for Alf Swift and you did my wedding album in 1962. We celebrated our 50th this year and the photographs are still fresh and clear. I copied them to computer this year. Hope that you are well - where are you now?
