I believe there was a connection between Formby snr. & Platt bridge. Several years ago, I met, through my brother, an old man & he told me about when he was a boy. it was when St.Nats. was being built, & he & his friends used to hide in the builder's rubble & trhow stones at the miners coming off shift, one of them being Formby senior.

Lived next door but one to my Grandma & Granddad Topping, who brought up my mother 5 sisters & a brother in a 2 up 2 down not sure if there was a lamp post at the corner of the street.

I used to go to infant school with a little girl called Jolly Topping. I dont suppose you know if you're related. I never saw her again after infant school, but I always remembered her because I thought her name was wonderful! I'm in my mid fifties now.
