2nd from right on the back row looks like a young Clive Bilsborough
The man on the left next to D.V. Cornes is the Rev. Harold Wagstaff,vicar of St. Mary's for several years.
The Revd. Bob Wagstaff was Vicar of St Mary's from 1958 - 1975.
Fifth from the left is Ernest Travers, who went on to become a Reader at St Mary's, and was subsequently ordained serving, among other places as Vicar of St Barnabas Marsh Green.
I stand corrected over rev. Wagstaff's first name but i do remember he was a good bloke.
He was indeed. I met him when I was in Warrington Deanery, after he moved to GLazebury from St Mary's. He was still involved in dinghy sailing on the flashes. His fixed smile was reportedly the result of ill-treatment when a prisoner of the Japanese in WW2.
Gent 2nd left, the late Donald Cornes, worked all his life for the local press.

The lad on the front row 4th from the right is Joey Entwistle "My brother" who died from a blood disease aged 18. The man on the far right with an overcoat over his arm looks like Norman Edwards, gardner at St Marys.
The young boy 3rd from left at the front is William(Billy)Owen,The 1st boy is Martin taylor.
Donald cornes lived across Warrington rd from our house (297) he ran our football team(st Mary's boys club) he was kit man,magic sponge man,trainer ref, linesman you name it he did it .only lost 2 games in 2 seasons ( 1961/1962) still got medals we won.great man do anything for anybody.still go photo of team at wigan rovers ground in final.
