I remember us getting our first TV, we were chuffed to bits..My Mam used to put a cloth over it when we weren't watching it, to keep the dust from getting inside. LOL..
Turn the knob to Number Two for BBC, and Number Nine for ITV.
No BBC Two or Channels Four and Five then, let alone Satellite, Cable and Freeview!
You older ones,do you remember Highway Patrol on Saturday nights with Broderick Crawford.
Yes Dave, I do.. I remember Children's hour, think it was on 4-5, " Are you sitting comfortably?"... Dixon of Dock Green, loads of good shows on, back in the day..Well, at least they were good then, some would seem a bit lame today I suppose..
And on Friday at five to five it was crackerjack , you could win a crackerjack pencil and pen
What about "watch with Mother" can anyone remember what was on each day? I can remember "The Wooden Tops" and "Andy Pandy" and not forgetting "Bill and Ben and Little Weed". Flob a lob lob lober weed!
Used to love Doctor Who and still do....then wrestling on Saturdays just after the football results. Then bootsie and snudge, steptoe and son. My favorite martian and Mr ed to name but a few.....well there was not alot then .......so I played out alot....
