That pic was taken after the Pavilion Cinema was demolished & before the new Baths was built

Am I right in thinking that the building behind the bus used to be the Wigan Mining & Technical College ?
My grandfather Thomas Bryson was a lecturer in mining there & my father William Bradshaw was also there as a student in weaving, he met my mother at a college dance in the early 30's I remember catching the Corporation bus from opposite The Wiend up to Cherry Gardens...they were a darker red than the Ribble buses that I used to get to go school in Ormskirk.

Yes Helen, it was Wigan Tech, now it's the Town Hall.
Known by some as "The Kremlin" ;o)

And now the baths is ready for demolition again.

I took my test in the Wolsley car on the off side of the bus 1967.Happy days.
