This photograph shows the Packet, one of three pubs nearby to Bickershaw Colliery. The other two were the Britannia and the Grey Horse.

Great photograph! The Packet and Britannia are due for demolition to make way for a Marina and Housing. The Grey Horse was bulldozed last week.
Other pubs nearby were; The Bowling Green, near swing bridge, Bickershaw pit club, next to Lamp Room, The Correction Inn, Bickershaw St, The Nevison Inn

Go past the area often , now all gone (colliery, everything)
