Cottages on College Road,opposite the College.My husbands parents Harold and Lily Bretherton lived in the middle one.

Lily Bretherton was my mother and she worked at plessey.

I knew your mum very well she was over the Cable Making Section. I was engaged to a girl who worked on her department.
I worked on the Test department.

Sadly Ron she is no longer with us.She was killed on the road just above from were she lived near the nusing home in Dec 2002.

Hi John, Yes I had heard, at the time, that a Lilly Bretherton had been in a road accident but I wasn't sure if it was the Lilly Bretherton who worked at Plessey? However a friend of mine who lives in Gathurst Road told me it was her. A very sad end.
